Client Portal
Overview
Effective service management is crucial, as it directly impacts the cost and efficiency of the services provided. Our goal is to create an online platform to empower clients by giving them the ability to manage their crew members, vendors, and workstations independently—enabling ability to add or remove services as needed. By providing a self-service platform, clients can optimize their project management in real-time, leading to better cost control and operational flexibility.
Problem Space

Clients lack the ability to independently manage project resources and services
-
Key question: How might we automate backend integrations to seamlessly support a user-friendly frontend design, allowing clients to efficiently manage their service needs?

Project Format
Laptop / Desktop Web Application
As the target audience group’s primary tools used are laptops or large size monitors, large screen design is a suitable direction.
Target User Group
Team Managers, Leads, and team members
There are multiple user groups within the client portal. Each user group are defined for their goal, then put into different permission settings to gain access to the features needed.
Modules and Permissions
It’s critical to define required integrations with the development team to properly plan a project timeline. I defined each feature pages with assigned engineer to map out actions and/or integrations required.
Since the portal requires multiple user groups, I created a flow chart to display each group group’s goal and access within the portal. Setting and confirming the permission groups and structure is crucial because they’re directly related to management access. Once the flow chart was confirmed, I defined the permissions levels to be aligned with the internal CRM system to plan for future integration.
App Relations
The sales portal carry the same client information. Sales portal data is migrated to the client portal to properly display the correct project information. It is important that all project stakeholders understand and agree the relationship between the two portals to properly execute portal developments.
